Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist with the building and implementation of a product strategy for the Collins particleboard product, including defining the target market, identifying customers, and creating a value proposition.
Utilize the particleboard product strategy to establish new customer relationships and strengthen existing relationships:
Initiate sales calls.
Travel to develop connections.
Respond to inquiries.
Process claims and complaints per procedures.
Communicate order and product updates and changes.
Provide product samples and literature.
Participate in company supported industry events.
Apply knowledge of production costs and transportation logistics to create accurate quotes for customers.
Obtain purchase orders and collaborate with production, finishing, and shipping to manage a successful transaction.
Negotiate price changes as required by market conditions.
Collaborate with multiple departments to include operations, shipping, transportation, and the sales team.
Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of wood product and composite panel manufacturing processes.
Excellent problem solving, organizational, and logistical skills.
High personal standards in accuracy, quality, efficiency, and urgency to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Inventory management software knowledge preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Courteous and effective telephone skills.
Ability to organize and handle diverse workloads and set priorities.
Ability to travel – 30% minimum.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in wood science, sales, marketing, or a similar field.
The equivalent work experience accepted.
Relevant industry-related experience preferred.
