ConMet is hiring a facilities maintenance technician.

Position Details The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a mechanically skilled hands-on role, responsible for assembling, building, maintaining and repairing much of the equipment at our Technical Center.
This position is part of the Technical Center which requires much of the research, development and validation of new products for the transportation industry through creative solutions.
This position is based in Vancouver, Washington at the ConMet Technical Center, which provides design verification and product validation support for our three core product lines: wheel ends, plastics, and castings, as well as our new product lines.
Our team of engineers and technicians operate over 70 specialized pieces of test equipment and are continuously developing innovative new capabilities to provide our customers with cutting edge products that provide value without sacrificing performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support new equipment installations with hands-on work as well as vendor coordination.
Coordinate with outside vendors for facility installations and repairs.
Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed equipment.
Diagnosis and repair of electrical equipment (solenoids, lights, motors, etc.
) Troubleshooting of specialty in-house equipment Follow proper maintenance procedures on specialized HVAC and chiller equipment Perform and document routine facilities and equipment inspections.
Maintains inventory of consumable facility components.
Repair plumbing, piping, fixtures, and related mechanical devices.
Repairs and modifications to potable and non-potable water systems, wastewater systems and hot water systems.
Design and build basic brackets and equipment fixturing General maintenance functions Assist technicians in keeping test equipment running.
Core hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
Qualifications Motivated, self-starter with good communication skills 5-10 years of hands-on technical labor or mechanical assembly or mechanical repair work.
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power equipment, fabrication, and machine shop skills.
Preferred: Formal technical apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Preferred: Two or more years of test and measurement experience in the manufacturing/product arena.
Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with contractors.

Salaried NON-EXEMPT Compensation & Benefits Salary range Entire hourly rate range ($28 - $40) placement based on qualifications and professional experience.
