POSITION SUMMARY: The DOT/EHS Specialist for Tarkett Sports Construction and Installation Operations will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and standards.
This position requires a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of construction and installation processes, as well as the ability to implement and manage safety and compliance programs.
The person will be responsible for reporting accurate performance to required agencies and corporate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION COMPLIANCE Responsible to ensure TSP DOT programs are established, implemented, and maintained to comply with federal and state regulations, and Tarkett corporate policies within the WCI organization.
The focus of the work is to lead and coordinate Risk Management activities to prevent and mitigate DOT issues and maintain compliance.
The Specialist provides a flexible and innovative approach to develop knowledge and awareness of our DOT Program throughout the organization to ensure goals are achieved.
Oversight of the DOT regulatory compliance program.
Addressing Risks and Opportunities for Improvement.
Scope may include providing resource assistance to FieldTurf field operations, if determined.
Ensures that programs of DOT are established, implemented, and maintained to comply with federal and state regulations, and Tarkett corporate policies.
Provides a flexible and innovative approach to develop knowledge and awareness of our DOT Management System throughout the Fleet to ensure goals are achieved.
Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations related to transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel.
Responsibility for managing driver profiles Conduct regular audits and inspections of transportation activities to identify and address any non-compliance issues.
Develop and implement training programs for employees involved in transportation activities.
Injury investigation, reporting, and support for all Tarkett Sports related incidents.
Environmental, Safety, and Health (EHS) Management: Responsible to ensure TSP EHS programs are established, implemented, and maintained to comply with federal and state regulations, and Tarkett corporate policies.
The focus of the work is to lead and coordinate Risk Management activities to prevent and mitigate EH&S issues and maintain compliance within the WCI organization.
The Specialist provides a flexible and innovative approach to develop knowledge and awareness of our EH&S Programs throughout the organization to ensure goals are achieved.
Ensure EH&S programs are effectively established, implemented, and maintained in office, warehouse, and job site installation / construction operations.
Conduct regular Risk Assessments and inspections of construction and installation activities to identify and address EHS non-compliance issues and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure the investigation and assist in the determination of corrective actions of TSP EHS incidents, near misses, and property damage.
Maintain proper records and documentation and ensure proper reporting to federal, state, and local agencies and Tarkett Corporate.
Provide EHS training programs and tools for TSP employees to meet regulations and improve Safety culture and results.
Maintain complete and accurate EHS records and documentation and ensure reporting to regulatory agencies and Tarkett corporate, as required.
Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local regulations related to construction and installation operations.
Ensure all projects adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and obtain necessary permits.
Training and Education: Provide training sessions to employees on DOT regulations, safety procedures, and EHS protocols.
Foster a safety culture by promoting awareness and adherence to best practices, using up to date technologies to support this.
Telematics? Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of DOT and EHS-related activities.
Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience practicing in OCC Health & Safety or related field.
In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and EHS standards.
Proven experience in construction and installation operations.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize workload to include multiple projects with deadlines.
Demonstrated strong attention to details with excellent organization skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused, and concise manner.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO) designation is a plus.
