Underground Utility Locator

We are a small utility locating company based in the SE and we are looking for an experienced utility locator to join our team.
We only do private utility locating so you don’t get maps and you usually have no idea what is out there.
It’s quite a bit more challenging and more work than public locating.
We have a few more tools that you’ll have to learn to use as well.
Works start at 7am, depending on workload days will usually end between 2-5pm.
M-F only but if you’re open to weekend work we may be able to accommodate that.
We are in SE near the 205 and would prefer someone who lives not far away to make their commute to and from the shop easier.
Work is divided between driving the work vehicle to locations and working at those locations.
You interact with lots of people so there is a need to be personable and professional in all situations.
After 90 days you can get IRA matching, we will buy you work boots, and you’ll get PTO at 1.
4 hours every 19 hours worked.
*Skill Requirements* * 2 years or more experience working with EM based pipe and cable locating tools * Basic computer use and technology skills * Clear communication skills * Strong attention to detail and accuracy in marking utility locations * Familiarity with underground utility systems and their markings * Possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record * Ability to interpret blueprints and as-builts – Preferred *Physical requirements include:* * Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
* Must be able to carry and use locating tools onto roofs and into crawlspaces * Must be able to walk on varied terrain for long distances * Must be able to work outside in all season including freezing and hot conditions * Must be able to work around moving traffic and within traffic control areas * Must be able to operate standard passenger vehicles and trucks * Must be able to operate basic power tools * Must be able to manipulate small hand tools to facilitate access to utility infrastructure * Must be able to operate tools designed for the removal of manhole lids and other access vaults * Must be able to operate locating equipment in conjunction with marking paint applicator * Must be able to perform repetitive physical tasks * Must be available for weekend and night work as rarely needed Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.
