Electrical Construction Inspector
We have a terrific opportunity for an Electrical Inspector to join our team as we work together to complete the secondary treatment expansion program slated for completion by the end of 2025.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Electrical Inspectors enhance the safety and livability of structures by performing field inspections of public works electrical infrastructure for compliance with applicable electrical codes and regulations.
These individuals work to meet high expectations of providing excellent customer service in an equitable manner to meet the needs of our local community.
This position requires knowledge of the relevant codes and regulations, and the ability to use significant discretion and judgment when applying them.
Electrical Inspectors work on a team that shares information, trains together, and works together.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Construction Quality Assurance Inspection.
Construction processes and methods, materials and their use, characteristics, preparation and/or installation.
Construction specifications and standards.
Characteristics and capabilities of construction equipment, and tools used in construction inspection.
Safety practices to be followed during construction.
Quality standards and test methods for construction materials.
Ability to:
Interact effectively to problem-solve and partner with others.
Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, codes, laws, and contracts.
Perform math calculations associated with the computation or estimation of construction progress, dimensions, quantities, and costs.
Maintain construction records; document daily construction activities and write related reports.
Interpret technical electrical information from plans and explain code requirements and policy to customers who have varying levels of electrical code knowledge.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diversity of construction personnel, equipment operators, supervisors and crews, contractors.
Inspect and prepare daily reports on public works projects, such as construction of pipelines, facilities/structures (including treatment plants and pump stations) and natural resource restoration, for quality of work and material, and for adherence to stipulations and specifications, including ensuring contractor, personnel, and public safety.
Be technically savvy in the use of laptops and/or tablets and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and other related software applications such as Bluebeam.
Requirements:
Valid state driver’s license
Requires knowledge of the construction aspects of the installation of instrumentation, control panels, and PLCs; low and medium voltage conductors and raceways; electrical systems testing and up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes and standards relating to municipal infrastructure.
