Summary: The basic functions of the Quoting Specialist are to develop quotations for contracts when requested by customers or potential customers, in compliance with our QMS documentation set.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Generate and deliver quotes and proposals.
Quoting involves reviewing client drawings, working with production and engineering to estimate labor requirements, selecting vendors and gathering pricing data.
Contact customer or potential customer via outside sales, customer project manager, customer program manager or directly when necessary to clarify requirements, discuss missing or conflicting data on the specifications and to offer options to reduce manufacturing or materials costs.
Send quotation to customer and cc appropriate Sales staff (seeking peer review and management approval in special cases).
Responsible for developing quotations for new business opportunities and updating existing assembly costs when appropriate by identifying labor processes and material requirements and entering that data into CII quote system, in compliance with the Quality Programs process documentation.
Documentation of any verbal information that could affect future contracts is verified via emails with dates noted in quote folder.
Emails are retained in electronic record format per QMS document set.
An extremely high degree of accuracy and completeness is achieved on all actions.
Performs all duties in an independent and expeditious manner with minimal supervision.
Department goals are met and all reports/paperwork are completed on or before due dates.
Consistently display the ability to recognize and deal with priorities as well as quickly adjust to current workload and make appropriate decisions based on all available information.
Perform any other tasks or duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
A minimum of three years of experience working in a professional office environment or a related experience may be substituted for some of the experience at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Must be detail oriented and able to deal with both customers and suppliers by phone, in person and via email in a professional manner.
Requires mathematical and analytical skills as well as the ability to professionally and clearly communicate in English, in both verbal and written forms.
Windows Office Suite knowledge and keyboarding (35 wpm minimum) required.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires sitting for extended periods.
Standing and walking, up/down stair cases.
Will spend a large portion of time typing at computer.
Vision equal to or corrected to 20/20 with the ability to differentiate between colors.
Hearing equal or corrected to the sound emitted from a normal speaking voice at a distance of 10 feet.

manufactures defense articles and provides services using technical data that is controlled under International Traffic in Arms Regulations, as set by the US State Department.
Technical data that is ITAR controlled must not be shared with foreign persons.
A foreign person is defined as a non-US citizen or Resident Alien.

Working Conditions: Custom Interface’s facility is a manufacturing environment where temperature variations exist from opening doors to the outside environment, smoke particulates from soldering and other manufacturing operations frequently occur and there are occasionally noise levels that require hearing protection.
