*Maintenance Technician* *JOB SUMMARY:* Work closely with the maintenance and operation teams to address and resolve equipment and manufacturing obstacles, and mechanical/electrical problems.
Performs routine maintenance while minimizing line downtime.
_Reports To:_ Maintenance Manager *Responsibilities* * Responsible for repair and operation of industrial machinery.
* Utilize technical skills and knowledge in electrical/electronics (PLCs, A/C and D/C motors and drives, control logic, schematics, and troubleshooting) to work on machinery, support continuous process manufacturing, and achieve machine uptime metrics.
* Troubleshoot problems and eliminate manufacturing constraints.
* Maintain necessary parts and maintenance supplies in an organized manner.
* Perform and document plant preventative maintenance as assigned.
* Demonstrates a high level of safety focus and awareness via maintenance actions and support within the facility.
* Establish positive rapport and provide proactive customer service to all production employees and the operations team.
* Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
* Attention to detail in completing work tasks, cooperative attitude and being reliable and responsible.
* Supports the QA department to ensure the implementation of maintenance procedures to protect food product.
*Special Skills/Training* * Experience reading technical drawings and schematics.
* Knowledge and practical applications experience in electrical/electronics, PLCs, A/C and D/C motors, and drives and controls.
* Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
* Knowledge of CMMS and computer literacy.
* Comprehensive knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting and repair.
* Must have skills and abilities to independently perform maintenance on electrical controls, adjustable motor drives, and gearboxes.
* A willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
* Ability to read, write, and understand English.
(Without an interpreter) * Ability to work in a team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation & flexibility.
* Ability to operate a forklift and scissor man lift.
*Experience/Education* * High school diploma or equivalent.
(Post high school technical training and experience preferred) * 3+ years of previous plant maintenance experience working with electrical and/or mechanical equipment.
* Prior food processing/food safety experience is preferred.
*Physical Requirements* * Able to lift 55 pounds repeatedly.
* Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
* Must be able to reach and crawl to access machinery and equipment.
* Prolonged standing and repetitive bending.
* Ability to see to read documentation and hear instructions.
* Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
*Working Conditions* * Work is completed on equipment inside and outside food grade facility.
* Smock and hairnet (beard net if necessary) are required within the facility.
* Occasional outside work is necessary.
* There is a moderate level of noise while the plant is in production.
* Personal protective equipment is required to be used for certain activities.
