Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.
A.
) from four-year college or university in RF electronic technologies plus more than 8 years related experience and/or training in maintaining and troubleshooting complex communications systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong communication and the ability to train to a variety of different individuals.
Three to five years’ experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory.
Able to use computer and program, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, and repair complex communication systems.
Experience in diagnostics, repair, maintenance, program wireless communication equipment such as 2-way radios, transmitters, receivers, antennas for customers.
Experienced with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, and trunked radio systems.
Knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF Theory as it applies to wireless communications.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A variety of certifications and licenses will be required, and on-going learning will be important for this role.

Summary: The purpose of this position is to assist in the development of technicians and ensure that major projects in the area have the technical resources to successfully be deployed.
The person in this role will also have a position in a service shop and assist that shop with their day-to-day technical needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Work with shop managers and technicians on conducting, facilitating and executing training plans, creating plans that are collective but also to fit each Technician’s level.
These plans can and should include formalized classroom training as well as on the job (OJT) practical training.
The goal of training is to assist our technical team to progress from Apprentice-Journeyman-Senior-System technician.
The STT should consider compliance, industry specific regulations and company specific policies and procedures while creating and maintaining employee training records.
Develop ongoing training standards and minimums to progress from each technical level.
Review technician knowledge to ensure the standards are met for advancement.
Provide feedback to the technician supervisor on the technician's status with meeting the standards.
Assist with scheduling and conduct OJT training.
Conduct senior technician meetings to discuss technical topics.
Assist service managers/lead technicians in reviewing major projects in presale and post-sale.
