I've been living by myself in an apartment the last year, and my lease is ending late February.
A few weeks ago, I was one of the victims of a round of company layoffs, and was a bit blindsided by the timing.
Like a third of most Americans, I don't have emergency savings- and so despite having had a six figure job, I'm in quite a bind.
I am looking to stay at someone's place, whether it's a room or couch, for free, while I continue looking for a job.
There's no minimum duration I'm asking for, just whatever everyone is comfortable with.
Ideally, my dog Zoe can stay too, so that I don't have to give her up- that would be heartbreaking.

The biggest benefit to having me around would be to help with house chores, watch any pets, provide a safe environment, have someone to talk to, etc.
