For sale is a 1997 BMW R1100RT.
It has under 47k miles, starts, runs, rides, and stops flawlessly.
I can't find anything wrong with this bike.
It's ready to go.
Why is it so cheap? I'm going to be 100% transparent and honest, because that's my style.
I recently got interested in online car auctions and found this bike.
All I knew was that it ran, had 46,xxx miles, and had a clean title.
I took a big risk and, after a small bidding war, got the bike for a good price.
The paperwork is all in order and completely legitimate.
I can go to the DMV with you if you are worried about that and you'll walk out with a plate, new tags and a title coming in the mail.
In return, you will get to buy this bike for about $1200 less than it's worth in the winter.
It won't last long.
And oh man, did WE get lucky.
After puschasing, i found out it was donated to charity, hence why it was at auction.
The previous owner put 43,000 of the miles on it since 1999.
It also included a full service log in the factory maintenance and service booklet.
It was very well maintained by the first 2 owners (you will be the third).
Had its services early and diligent annual checkups.
Everything works on it.
From the dual-setting heated grips to the electric windshield (which is a spendy aftermarket one made by Aeroflow).
It has an adjustable seat, locking storage that is really easy to remove with the key, and an accessory port for your phone charger or heated gear.
I have ridden this bike around a bit and it's an absolute treasure.
I want to keep it, but my wife won't let me sell my Goldwing.
I'll be using the money to get the Goldwing road-worthy again.
It's also super clean.
It's clearly never been down and the only blemishes are scuffs in the hard cases from garage mishaps.
I took the side fairings off to inspect the bike and install a new battery.
The starter looks brand new.
The fuel pump also looks brand new and the spare fuel line under the seat indicates they replaced the fuel line inside the tank as well.
The bike looks perfectly indoor-kept and I can't find any superficial corrosion, excessive grime or anything but light dust under the fairings.
Definitely a garage queen.
Can't find any previous signs of oil leaks.
Comes with a BMW battery tender (that plugs into the acc port on the fairing), cold weather handlebar arm boot things, a PIAA headlight bulb, BMW acc port to regular acc port adapter, the factory owners manual/service manual, and factory took kit.
Text or email only.
I'm a busy guy and can rarely take phone calls on a whim.
Price is firm at $2300 this weekend.
It'll go up to a semi-flexible $3000 after this weekend.
No plates right now, so ride it home at your own risk.
Note: The last picture is of my cute Dalmatian puppy.
If you come look at the BMW, you'll get to pet him and give him a treat!
