For sale, my much loved and well maintained 2008 KTM-530EXC.
This motor is relatively fresh in terms of hours, top end with new piston done by professional mechanic.
Includes MUCH farkle, but mostly FUNCTIONAL farkle.
Recluse clutch, well maintained, recently serviced (by me) and yes, it squawks sometimes.
It's been squawking since Day One - works great.
18mm offset triple clamps with underbar scotts stablizer from BRP - designed to be STABLE when rocking gravel and soft stuff, and it IS.
Trailtech giant headlight.
Two seats, one enduro engineering and one seat concepts with new cover.
The seat concepts seat is the most confortable seat I have EVER sat on, bar none.
.
Ride all day and NEVER think about your ass.
Various other farkle, brake fluid radiators on the back - they work! No more faded brakes at the end of that big downhill near Bishop.
Factory bash sheild.
This bike is known for it's oil consumption, and I've dealt with it for over a decade - first we put a new piston and relined cyclinder in, then after that made minimal difference, I installed a custom oil cooler/reservoir to the crank case oil.
This added ~250cc of oil and lowered the oil temp to the head by a solid 20 degrees.
This helped a lot, BUT.
.
.
If you ride it like a two stroke it will burn oil like a two stroke.
Check your oil EVERY ride.
This is a well know DESIGN ISSUE - nothing "wrong" with the bike.
The oil cooler brings total crankcase oil capacity to just under a litter from 600cc.
Just for the record, I changed the oil every second ride for years on end.
.
I have replaced the oil pump gear drives under the clutch basket, they shouldn't fail again for many years.
Suspension gone through from end to end targeting 225-250lb rider (rider and gear).
This includes new springs all around, new valving all around, new rear shock bladder and container.
.
It comes with two tanks, the "large" OEM tank and a SUPER large Safari Brand (Australian) 6.
5gallon tank.
That helped me do the transamerica trail back in, uh, 2014? It ALSO comes with a Giant Loop tool bag in used but very usable condition.
Shop manuals and the like as well.
Clear title, registered It rides GOOD.
.
Starts every time.
After MUCH deliberation (it's been sitting in my garage since last summer when I purchased a new KTM-500.
I was shocked that at first (and maybe still) that I didn't like the 500 as much as the 530.
The 530 is smooth as silk and runs like a sewing machine.
The 500 shakes and throbs like old school LC4 motors, which made me stop and think hard about which one to get rid of, so - for the last year, it's got almost zero hours on it.
Let me know if you have any questions or want more specific pictures.
.
The battery has died in the speedo/odometer, which means I have lost total miles.
I want to say the last time I saw it, it was around 12k miles?
